Popularly known as the Blue Souk, thanks to its beautiful blue tiles, this two-storey souk consists of two long parallel buildings connected by indoor bridges. It is one of Sharjah’s most photographed buildings and even features on the UAE five-dirham bank note. It is divided into two sections, one for cosmetics, electronics goods and other for gold, jewels and gems. In a Nutshell: Outside of Dubai, the Sharjah Gold Souk is one of the Emirates’ best known gold souks, taking up an entire building at the Central Market, (also known as the Blue Souk) and contains may jewellers and bullion dealers, many of whom sell gold and silver at very low premiums. This is quite big souk - but I'm not recommending it during Eid as there are not much open stands at that time.A nice small market in the form of shops in a small street. The setup puts you back in history. A lot of collectibles too. Visit a Souk to shop locally. My most vivid memory is of course the gold shops!
