Brazil’s currency, the real (BRL), has tumbled by as much as 11% against the USD year-to-date, but has regained ground as Bolsonaro was seen leading in polls. It has gained around 10% against the dollar in the six weeks leading up to the election, while the Ibovespa benchmark stock index has gained over 16% in the same period.
